Hi Plussizediva, just buy vegetables and fruits that are in season as they will be cheaper. Avoid processed ready meals as they are expensive. You can make a nutritious meal with a handful of fresh ingredients such as onions, carrots, sweet peppers, and green beans.. Add a tin of tuna, and fresh pasta. Hope that helps
