Once upon a time diet soda was seen as a weight loss miracle because people could enjoy drinking soda without the risk of gaining weight or feeling bloated. Diet soda had zero calories so people thought it was just like drinking water.
Fast forward some years and it turns out that diet soda is not all that good for you either. A university study showed that people who drank diet soda were more at risk for health problems including obesity.
Although diet soda has no calories in it it does cause people to become bloated. Diet soda is also known to cause gas in people as well. It’s due to the carbonation as well as the chemicals found in it.
Drinking just one diet soda can make your entire body feel bloated. It even can cause water retention. This proves that nothing replaces a good old fashioned glass of cold water. Water hydrates you and rids your body of excess bloat.
Diet soda can be enjoyed as a treat, but not be treated as a form of hydration or a replacement for water. It’s better than regular sodas that are filled with calories and sugar, but it’s still not healthy for you. If you are looking for a way to get rid of the bloat in your body, drinking a diet soda is not the way to do it.
