Does Iced Tea Have Caffeine?

Iced tea is a summertime favorite and one of those beverages that anyone can enjoy on a warm weather day.  But, if you suffer from headaches due to caffeine consumption you may have wondered if iced tea does have caffeine?

There is caffeine in iced tea.  In fact, in 16 ounces of iced tea there are about 40 mg of caffeine.

While iced tea typically has less milligrams of caffeine than coffee, it still does contain caffeine.

If you suffer from headaches, the jitters or anxiety brought on by caffeine intake you may want to limit the amount of iced tea you drink.

If you are trying to cut back on your caffeine intake, you should restrict the amount of iced tea you drink.  Instead of having a full 16 ounces of iced tea, you could try cutting the amount in half.  Consuming eight ounces of iced tea will provide just 20 mg of caffeine instead of 40 mg.  This is great when it comes to reducing the amount of caffeine you consume.

The caffeine in iced tea can be reduced if made at home.  Sun tea is made by adding tea bags to water and placing a jug of mixture in the sun.  To reduce the amount of caffeine you can restrict the number of tea bags used.  Iced tea does have caffeine so it is best to be informed and drink wisely.
