Some people will go to great lengths to lose weight – including smoking weed. But does smoking weed make you lose weight? The answer is no. Some people think this is true because smoking cigarettes cuts back your appetite. The exact opposite happens when you smoke marijuana. You may have heard of “the munchies” as being a side effect of smoking marijuana. This is because some of the chemicals in marijuana can stimulate the appetite and trick your brain into thinking you are hungry. Not exactly a recipe for weight loss.
Smoking marijuana is not only illegal in some states, but it makes people lethargic and causes lung cancer. Again, not exactly a recipe for weight loss success. So if you are trying to justify your pot smoking by saying it helps lose weight, you’ll have to come up with another argument.
In reality, smoking marijuana does not directly impact weight gain or loss. But people who smoke weed typically do not live a healthy lifestyle and can be prone to health issues caused by the drug as well as poor nutrition.
If you really want to get serious about weight loss then save your money you would normally use to buy drugs with and go get a membership at your local gym. Combine that with a healthy diet and you’ll be on your way to a healthy way of living.
