Calories In Fried Eggplant

Dpped, battered and fried!  There are too many calories in fried eggplant if you are trying to lose weight.

Eggplant can be a healthy dish and included in most dieters menu plans, but when you fry it up, the calories can skyrocket. In one serving of deep fried eggplant there are about 350 calories.  This does not include the marinara sauce added to the top or the second helping you are reaching for.

Most people eat two piece of fried eggplant, because it is just that good.  When you do so, you can expect at least 700 calories.  Top the eggplant with marinara sauce and cheese and you can expect to add an additional 200 calories per piece.  This means that in one piece of fried eggplant with sauce and cheese you can expect to consume over 500 calories.

Fried eggplant is not a wise choice when it comes to dieting. There are plenty of other food choices that are lower in calories.  There are also other ways to prepare eggplant to make it contains less calories.

Baking eggplant is much better for you than deep frying it.  If you are trying to cut calories and lose weight, avoid deep frying your egg plant.  Also, eliminate the added sauces and cheese from you dish in order to reduce the number of calories in fried egg plant.
